First Lady of Motown Entertainment, Capria Entertainment and Capote Entertainment's feature documentary "The First Lady of Motown: The Story of Claudette Robinson" is now in production in Los Angeles, California and Madrid, Spain. The documentary tells the story of Claudette Robinson, dubbed the First Lady of Motown by the label’s founder, Berry Gordy, and the sole female member of The Miracles, the first group signed to Motown. Along with original members Smokey Robinson, Ronnie White, Pete Moore, Bobby Rogers and guitarist Marv Tarplin, The Miracles led the way for a generation of musicians and performers that emerged in Detroit during the 50s and 60s. Artists like Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Four tops, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, among many others, changed the world of music forever.

The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, were among the many acts influenced by The Miracles, and the Motown sound in general. Their music is classic and timeless and continues to be loved today by music fans, young and old. Most of the original members have passed, but Smokey Robinson, one of the most prestigious and prolific songwriters in modern history, continues to tour the world while Claudette focuses on giving back through many philanthropic endeavors. Although Claudette left the stage in the sixties to focus on her role as mother of the two children she had with Smokey Robinson, she continued to record with The Miracles until the early nineties. She remains a respected and influential figure in the world of entertainment, and for the first time, friends and collaborators join her to tell the story of her extraordinary life.

Claudette Robinson serves as executive producer along with her children, Tamla and Berry Robinson, while David de Bartolomé directs. Producers are David de Bartolomé, Lyric Ontiveros, Ramon Huggins, Justine Fischoff, and Wesley Cuttler. Scripted by Ms. Robinson, De Bartolomé, Justine Fischoff and Wesley Cuttler, the film is scheduled for release in 2019.

The feature length documentary is part of a macro project that includes a future TV series based on Ms. Robinson's story, currently in the script phase, and her biography.

Among the familiar faces that appear in the film are iconic Motown figures Smokey Robinson, Kim Weston, Mary Wilson, Janie Bradford, and Mickey Stevenson, joined by friends and family, including Claudette’s children and grandchildren.

In 2019, Motown will celebrate its 60th anniversary. The Miracles are still touring with new members and led by Sydney Justin.
